Make your own Sourdough - Chef Valentine - Cooking Class

HANDS ON CLASS. Please note you will go home with your own dough to continue the process and bake after receiving detailed instructions.

Are you dreaming of making artisan style sourdough loaves but not sure how to get started? Chef Valentine will guide you through the different steps with tons of tips to help you succeed.

Artisan Sourdough is a lengthy but rewarding experience. The whole process usually spans over 2 days! With a 3 hour class, we will have different stages of dough ready in advance to demonstrate as best as possible what to expect when doing it at home. You will start your own loaf during the class, take it home and finish baking it in your own oven.

We will explain how to care for your starter, which will be offered to take home along with detailed printed instructions.

We will serve during the class:

- Individual appetizer plates with assortment of cheeses, and spreads from the store, to go along with the freshly baked sourdough

- Heartwarming Tomato & Roasted Pepper Soup , with rustic pesto & sundried tomato sourdough loaf

- Cocoa and hazelnut sourdough loaf, served with butter and local honey

Please bring a medium size (2 to 3 quarts) mixing bowl with lid (if you have one, or we can provide a plastic cover) to mix and take your dough home plus a small sealable container (1/2 cup) to take some sourdough starter.

Please let us know ahead if you need a vegan/vegetarian option for your appetizer.

Want to save the Eventbrite fee? You can register in person and over the phone directly with the store (604) 939-6200. Payment is required when you register - Visa, MasterCard, gift certificates are accepted over the phone, cash and debit in person.

Cancellation policy:

If you cancel your registration with at least 72 hours notice, you will be refunded the cost of the class.

No refund, transfer to another class, or credit will be issued if cancelled with less than 72 hours notice, but you can send somebody in your place.
