About this Event

Calgary’s Larry Kwong broke barriers to become the NHL’s first player of Asian descent and a world hockey icon. Kristina Heintz, Samantha Heintz, and Chad Soon, respectively Kwong’s daughter, granddaughter, and biographer, team up to share the inspiring life story of a gamechanger whose impact went far beyond the rink. Copies of The Longest Shot: How Larry Kwong Changed the Face of Hockey, winner of the Dr. Edgar Wickberg Book Prize for the Best Book on Chinese Canadian History, are available.
