Chris Chameleon & Riaan van Rensburg return to Cape Town this August. Some albums never really leave you. This August, BOO! returns to Cape Town with The TLC Tour, a celebration of the songs, stories and beautiful madness surrounding the band's cult classic TNTLC album, originally released in 2003.
For Chris Chameleon, the title has taken on a new life. What once existed as part of BOO!'s wonderfully peculiar universe now feels strangely connected to his current obsession: the human heart. Love. Longing. Memory. The people we miss. The people we become. The things we carry with us long after the music stops.
Joined by longtime partner-in-crime, Riaan van Rensburg, this fun BOO! incarnation revisits favourites from across the Monki Punk catalogue while wandering into unexpected places between laughter, heartbreak, nostalgia and complete nonsense. Born in the backstreets of Brixton, Johannesburg, BOO! spent years confusing genres, collecting cult followers across 17 countries and proving that a bass guitar, a drum kit and a complete disregard for convention could take you almost anywhere. Now the circus heads south for their annual Western Cape tour. Expect old songs, new stories, winter nights, ocean air and a little TLC from two musicians who still believe that music should make you feel something even if you can't quite explain what it is.
