The Art of Preserving Flowers - Pressed Petals & Garden Treasures
About this Event
Capture the beauty of your garden long after the growing season has ended! Join us for a creative, hands-on workshop where you'll discover the timeless art of pressing and preserving flowers. Whether you dream of saving blooms from your own garden, preserving a special bouquet, or creating one-of-a-kind botanical art, this class will give you the skills and inspiration to get started.
You'll learn the secrets to successful flower preservation, including which flowers press best, how to maintain their color and beauty, and the different methods used to preserve blooms — from traditional wooden presses to book presses and even microwave techniques. Kim will also share helpful tips on color correction, adhesives for botanical artwork, and a variety of creative ways to turn your pressed flowers into beautiful keepsakes.
Each participant will receive fresh flowers and a traditional wooden flower press to use during class. You'll also create a lovely pressed-flower design in a floating glass frame to take home, along with plenty of ideas for future projects.
