About this Event

Is údar, gníomhaí chearta daonna agus bunaitheoir de chuid Decolonised Minds, ardán dírithe chur chuige cultúrtha agus polaitiúil i dtaca leis an tsláinte mheabhrach, é Talha AlAli (MSc, MA). Tá beagnach scór bliain de thaithí chliniciúil agus daonnúil aige, ag obair le marthanóirí cogaidh, céasadh, agus díláithriú ar fud na cruinne. Bunaíonn sé a chuid oibre ar an tráma, cultúr agus ceartas. Athshamhlaíonn a leabhar Decolonised Minds: When Radical Becomes Rational an tsíciteiripe le creatlach faoi scáth an díchoilínithe agus síceolaíocht fhuascailteach.

Is gníomhaí síceasóisialta agus polaitiúil í Bríd Ní Chíanáin, comhbhunaitheoir Ionad Gestalt Bhéal Feirste agus comhstiúrthóir Ireland Somatic Experiencing. Is teiripeoir tráma le Relatives For Justice í Bríd ó bhí 1995 ann. Ar na mallaibh, ghlac sí páirt i dturas staidéir chuig na críocha gafa sa Phalaistín. Áitíonn an tsíceolaíocht fhuascailteach, atá lárnach in obair Bhríd, go bhfuil an tuiscint faoi cén dóigh a fhorbraíonn muid de dhíth ar chlaochlú sóisialta.

Talha AlAli, MSc, MA, is an author, human rights activist, and the founder of Decolonised Minds, a platform dedicated to culturally grounded and politically conscious approaches to mental health. He has nearly two decades of clinical and humanitarian experience, working with survivors of war, torture, and forced displacement across the world. His work integrates trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and justice-oriented practice into his work. His book, Decolonised Minds: When Radical Becomes Rational, offers a framework for reimagining psychotherapy through decolonial  and liberation psychology perspectives.

Bríd Ní Chíanáin is a psychosocial and political activist, cofounder of the Gestalt Centre Belfast and founder and Co-director of Ireland Somatic Experiencing. Bríd has worked as a trauma therapist with Relatives for Justice here in the North since 1995. She was recently a part of a mental health study tour to the Occupied Territories of Palestine and the land of 48.  Liberation psychology, which defines Bríd’s work, maintains that understanding how we come to be who we are, is essential for social transformation.
