About this Event
Coercive control is a subtle yet pervasive form of abuse that can deeply affect an individual’s sense of autonomy and well-being. The Presenter will give us an insight into how he has experienced this control, emphasizing the challenges and complexities he has encountered not only within his family relationships and his own mental health, but also dealing with the Family Justice system, Legal Aid inequalities, PSNI, and Social Service roles. Going forward he now helps both mums and dads in the system
By examining a real-life scenario and discussing effective intervention strategies, participants will gain greater insight into supporting clients who may be impacted by coercive control. The session encourages open dialogue and reflection to enhance professional understanding and practice and to that end we encourage participants to ask appropriate questions, always being mindful of the Presenter’s need for anonymity and support
