Make Your Own Herbal Salves and Balms

Join us for a hands-on workshop to learn how to make your own herbal salves and lip balms. Many herbs provide skin-soothing properties, as well as a lovely scent. Gail Henderson of Big Tree Herb Farm will show you how to create these chemical-free salves with all natural ingredients. Participants can choose from several organic herbs and make three salves and one lip balm to take home with them. This class is best for teens and adults.

About the Teacher
Big Tree Herb Farm started as a small farm in 2015 in the town of Lebanon, Maine. Now, Gail Henderson and her son have 4 greenhouses, 25 goats, 27 chickens, 36 ducks, 4 dogs and 1 cat, and grow over 35 medicinal and culinary herbs, as well as many vegetables and fruits. Gail has been studying medicinal herbs for many years as a means to heal and prevent illness without harmful chemicals or prescription drugs. She grows all of her own herbs and produce using organic practices with no pesticides or chemicals and only compost for fertilizer. Her goal is to share her herbs and knowledge with others so that they may learn more about herbal wellness. also be empowered to heal themselves with the remedies that the earth provides.

Tickets
Tickets are $40 for members and $50 for nonmembers. Class includes the instruction and all materials to make two salves and one balm to take home. A ticket also buys a day pass to Bedrock Gardens. If not requested within 48 hours of the program start time, tickets will not be reimbursed. Class is limited to 16.
