WEEK 2 Intermediate
Parchute Purple Haze. The Parachute Purple Haze is a versatile dry fly that imitates a variety of mayflies and other small insects. It features a purple body, white parachute post for visibility, and hackle wrapped horizontally around the post, which gives it excellent flotation and a natural presentation on the water’s surface. The purple color adds a unique trigger point that can entice trout, especially in pressured waters. This fly should be fished on a dead drift in slow to medium-paced water, where insects are likely to be floating. Its effectiveness peaks during mayfly hatches but can be used as a general attractor pattern year-round.
