WEEK 3 Intermediate
Chernobyl. The Chernobyl Ant is a large foam-bodied terrestrial fly that imitates grasshoppers, beetles, or large ants. It features a bulky, high-floating body made of foam, rubber legs for added movement, and bright colors or indicators for visibility. This fly excels in fast or turbulent water due to its buoyancy and attention-grabbing profile. It should be fished using a dead drift or slight twitching action to imitate a struggling terrestrial insect. The Chernobyl Ant is particularly effective during the summer months when terrestrials are active and often works well when paired with a dropper nymph for a versatile setup.
