If you suspect you have Lipoedema or were recently diagnosed, you might feel a variety of emotions - overwhelmed, disappointed, confused, or maybe even relieved because you finally have some answers. Before going too far down the rabbit hole of information and treatment options, let's take this time to prepare your mental and emotional headspace.

The Lipoedema Lounge is a guided experience, bringing you more confidence and empowerment! Our disease is not for the faint of heart, so let's get in touch with what makes us stronger and more prepared for our next steps in life. You'll also gain a sense of connection, knowing you are not alone in this. Let's navigate Lipoedema together.

Lipoedema is more than physical...and it's complicated

Lipoedema patients experience pain, cuffing, swelling, weight gain, bruising, vein issues, lymphatic stagnation, and a host of other physical symptoms. Related to all that might be some frustration around wearing compression or clothes that don't fit right. And beneath it ALL of that is why the Lipoedema Lounge was created.

Those with Lipoedema have what I call the 'silent symptoms' and they are often overlooked: guilt, shame, embarrassment, isolation, worry, overwhelm, and confusion. They come to us in the form of financial stress, being dismissed by our medical providers, information overload, advice from well meaning others, and societal pressures around fat and obesity. Some of us have been living unknowingly with Lipoedema for years and we've carried around baggage. Meanwhile, empowerment is nowhere to be seen and we can end up feeling invisible. You deserve so much more than that!

About your host Heddy Pugh

I am the founder of Heddy Life - a certified Immersive Coach, Guided Meditation Facilitator, and Lipoedema patient. I was diagnosed nearly a decade ago and have been immersed in our community ever since.

I help Lipoedema clients build the empowerment needed to navigate this disease with more ease and confidence. My virtual sessions are one-on-one, groups, and workshops. You will see me presenting at Lipoedema conferences on occasion or helping to run the Pacific Northwest Lipedema Facebook group in the US. Learn more about Heddy.

About the online Lipoedema Lounge

When you're at the lounge you can feel taken care of, heard, seen, and relaxed. We're serious about personal growth, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. This online space is where we can get in touch with inner selves (our inner warriors) without the clutter, distractions, and noise all around us.

For about 20 minutes of your lounge session, you will simply relax and let me guide you through relaxation and contemplation. You can sit up or lay down as long, as your body is comfortable, warm, and cozy. Themes vary by date, but the basic structure is:

1. Brief introduction to topic
2. 20 minute Guided Experience
3. Writing down what came up during the experience
4. Sharing, if desired
5. Social time

-The lounge does not include Immersive Coaching; I will facilitate using guided meditation and writing prompts.
