About this Event
July Blossoms of Hope: A community screening: SILENT WAR 電影:無聲之戰(中文附后)
Breaking the Silence, Blooming Together
July is Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month
Mental health remains one of the most urgent yet least discussed issues in Asian American communities. Although Asian Americans experience significant rates of mental distress, they are among the least likely to seek professional help.
Cultural stigma, silence within families, discrimination, and racialized experiences often prevent individuals from accessing the support they need.
Silence does not mean suffering does not exist.Seeking help is an act of courage.
As part of NAMI National's nationwide initiative in recognition of Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, NAMI AC and MHACC are proud to present a community screening of the award-winning documentary:
Silent War: Asian American Reckonings with Mental Health
This powerful film follows Asian Americans who courageously share their personal experiences with mental illness, recovery, family expectations, and resilience. Their stories challenge stigma, foster understanding, and inspire hope.
Following the screening, community leaders, mental health professionals, and advocates will participate in a panel discussion exploring pathways toward healing, support, and mental health equity.
💜Every story deserves to be heard.
💜 Every conversation can change a life.
