Alexis Boylan is the author of Ellen Emmet Rand: Gender, Art & Business. Boylan will discuss Rand's prolific body of work and her place as an American painter and illustrator. Rand’s work included portraits of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and a diverse array of movers and shakers of the early 20th century, including members of the Clarke Family. Following the lecture, Boylan will conduct a tour of Hyde Hall's collection of Rand's works.
