Clay for Kids, Session 2
Thursdays, August 13 to September 3
2:00 - 4:00 pm
Description
This kid's class meets once a week for 4 weeks.
Let's explore and record nature in clay this summer! Kids will have time to explore the courtyard for leaves, feathers, flowers, branches etc. along with a bin of natural objects that will be provided for the class to look through / choose from and use each week. We'll explore different methods of handbuilding and sculpting along with surface design with the objects found in nature and color. Students will learn the essentials and be guided to follow their imaginations through the intuitive tactile
process. At the end of the session students will not only take home their own creations of art but leave with a new avenue of self expression and an understanding of the creative potential of clay. Come join us!

If your child falls outside the listed age range and they are interested in the class please email Megan, [email protected]
We understand that parents cannot always pay for all the activities their kids want to do so we are extra excited to offer this camp, and all our kids' programming at the Smithy Clay Studio in July and August, as a pay-what-you-can. We have listed some suggested donation levels if you want to chip in and support the programs we do. Your donations will help keep this going forward! Any amount is greatly appreciate and there is an open field for donations at the check out. We are a 501c3, registered nonprofit so your donations are tax deductible.
This program is made possible with public funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered by The Earlville Opera House.

About Anne Carnevale:
Anne fell in love with shards of pottery as a child at archaeological sites which eventually led to her first ceramics class on a study abroad program. Whichever city she landed over the years she made sure to find a communal studio and studied with an array of teachers. She's been creating full time since 2013 and has taught all ages privately since then. She enjoys working with interior designers and her work can be found in boutiques internationally and locally since her recent move to the area.
