A morning immersion into summer’s vitality and gentle lunar harmony. Forest bathing is a healing practice that invites you to gently explore nature through all your senses. The Japanese term for this is Shinrin Yoku, which translates to “bathing in the atmosphere of the forest.” This embodied practice fosters a deep connection with nature, encouraging you to engage with your surroundings in a mindful and restorative way. Research has shown that spending time in the forest can lower blood pressure, reduce anxiety, strengthen the immune system, enhance creativity, and foster positive emotions. Alyse Rynor, a Certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, will guide you on this journey. Using a series of “invitations,” Alyse will offer opportunities for you to explore your personal relationship with the natural world. As we move slowly along the trail, we’ll take pauses to gather in circle, where we’ll share and listen to each other’s experiences. The walk, typically covering less than a mile, ends with a sacred tea ceremony. Forest bathing is a powerful way to enhance your health and well-being while reconnecting with the more-than- human world. Join us for in our two-hour immersive experience and discover the transformative benefits of this practice.
