Eighth Cambridge Symposium on Knowledge in Education
About this Event
The symposium will bring together researchers and teachers who, in the traditions of social realism and Basil Bernstein’s sociology of education, see knowledge as an object of study that is central to addressing all educational questions. Political, social, and economic crises and declining trust in expert knowledge make theorising the question of the role of knowledge in education more contested, yet also more urgent. We have invited contributions from those currently engaged in empirical enquiries into, and/or theorising about the social conditions of knowledge production and exchange as well as its structuring for the curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment.
