Distant Worlds, Familiar Skies

Join us at the Blake Planetarium for a journey beyond our Solar System as we explore one of humanity's oldest and most fascinating questions: Are we alone in the universe?

Our feature presentation, Distant Worlds – Alien Life, takes audiences on an exploration of the search for life beyond Earth. For thousands of years, humans have looked toward the stars and wondered whether other worlds might be home to living things. Today, that question has moved from the realm of imagination into the exciting world of scientific investigation.

Earth is the only planet we know for certain to support life, but our universe contains billions of stars and an enormous number of planets. As astronomers discover more worlds beyond our Solar System, scientists are beginning to investigate which might have the conditions necessary for life. What makes a planet potentially habitable? How do we find planets orbiting distant stars? And could life exist somewhere beyond our cosmic neighborhood?

Distant Worlds – Alien Life invites audiences to consider the possibilities and explore the remarkable discoveries that are changing the way we think about our place in the universe.

Following the feature, turn your attention to the September night sky with Seasonal Stargazing. Discover some of the most prominent and easy-to-find stars and constellations visible during the early fall. Learn how to recognize patterns in the sky, discover interesting star names and stories, and find out what's happening overhead this September.

From the possibility of distant worlds to the stars visible from our own backyard, this program invites you to look up and wonder what might be out there.

TICKETS ARE SOLD ONLINE ONLY. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR.

Please note that we are a ticketless venue. When you buy your ticket online, you are immediately added to our attendee list, so there is no need to print your ticket or present an e-ticket. You can simply check in with your name and a smile.
