One Sky: Stories from Around the World

The stars may be the same, but the stories we find in them are wonderfully different. Join us at the Blake Planetarium for an immersive journey around the world and into the night sky with One Sky Project.

This fulldome experience brings together stories representing the perspectives of different cultures and Indigenous societies from around the globe. Each story offers a unique way of understanding the sky, exploring how people have observed patterns, developed tools, and looked beyond what they could see in their everyday lives.

Organized around the themes of “Finding Patterns” and “To Seek Far,” One Sky Project celebrates both the diversity of human knowledge and our shared curiosity about the universe. Although cultures around the world have developed their own traditions and stories about the sky, we all look upward at the same stars.

Following the feature, bring your attention back to the sky above Plymouth with Seasonal Stargazing. Explore the early spring night sky and discover some of the prominent stars and constellations visible during this time of year. Learn how to recognize patterns, discover interesting star names and stories, and find out what's happening overhead as winter gives way to spring.

From stories shared across cultures to the stars visible from our own community, this program reminds us that the sky belongs to all of us and there is always more to discover when we look up.

TICKETS ARE SOLD ONLINE ONLY. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR.

Please note that we are a ticketless venue. When you buy your ticket online, you are immediately added to our attendee list, so there is no need to print your ticket or present an e-ticket. You can simply check in with your name and a smile.
