About this Event

Join us from 8:30am on Wednesday 17th June at the Lowry Hotel, Salford

Explore the realities of delivering datacentre projects at our breakfast seminar with expert insights, breakfast and networking.

We’re delighted to invite you to join us for a morning of discussion focused on one of the fastest growing and most complex areas within construction and engineering – datacentres.

While many of the challenges will feel familiar, the construction of datacentres can be particularly complex. The combination of highly technical requirements, specialist systems and strict standards means these projects are far more sensitive to changes and errors.

The pace of technological development only adds to this. Requirements can shift significantly between initial scope and delivery. Often resulting in increased variations, pressure and cost uncertainty. What is specified at the start is not always what is needed by the time construction begins.

This session will explore how these risks play out in practice, from managing constant change and evolving client requirements, to understanding insurance implications and avoiding disputes when projects start to drift.

As always, we will be joined by an exceptional line-up of speakers for what promises to be an insightful and practical set of talks.

Join us from 8:30am at The Lowry Hotel, Manchester.

Topics

Risks and Opportunities: explore what makes data centre projects fundamentally different, including the technical, regulatory and commercial pressures that increase risk.

Managing Change and Variation: a look at how rapidly evolving technology drives change, and how teams can better manage variation across the lifecycle of a project.

Insurance and Risk Allocation: consider the insurance challenges specific to data centres, including how risk is transferred and where issues commonly arise.

Avoiding and Resolving Disputes: a discussion on how disputes emerge on complex projects, and the practical steps that can be taken to prevent or resolve them.
