Obibini Pictures presents this two-night cinematic celebration spotlighting Howard University’s emerging filmmakers on April 30 alongside MFA alumni filmmakers on May 1.

From classroom to big screen, the showcase bridges Undergraduate Directing for Film & TV Shorts (Class of 2026), MFA filmmakers, the Howard University Film Organization (HUFO), and alumni in a curated festival experience that honors Howard’s cinematic legacy while fostering future creative community in Washington, D.C.

Hosted at the historic Miracle Theatre, Black Light invites audiences to experience powerful short films, conversations, and community in a setting that connects Howard’s filmmaking tradition to the wider landscape of Black independent cinema.
