About this Event

Sitar Arts Center is excited to present its 2026 Set in DC Film Festival, themed "The Unknown - Inspiring Transformation During Times of Uncertainty."

Now in its third year, this inspiring event is planned and produced by high school students in Sitar's Emerging Arts Leaders (S.E.A.L.) program—a creative leadership initiative for teens passionate about the arts and their community. The festival offers a platform for young storytellers from across the DMV, ages 10–24.

Now in its second year, this inspiring event is planned and produced by high school students in Sitar’s Emerging Arts Leaders (S.E.A.L.) program—a creative leadership initiative for teens passionate about the arts and their community. The festival offers a platform for young storytellers from across the DMV, ages 10–24, to explore the many dimensions of love through film.

Join us in our deLaski Theater for a powerful screening of a collection of captivating original short films. Through powerful, personal storytelling, these filmmakers invite you into moments of change, challenge, and growth—reminding us that even in uncertainty, something new is always taking shape.

The evening will also include an award presentation honoring standout filmmakers in three age categories, followed by a Q&A and reception. It's a celebration of youth voices, creativity, and the power of storytelling to bring people together.

Come experience the heart, vision, and talent of DC's emerging filmmakers.
