About this Event

As part of the D.C. Francophonie Cultural Festival, the Embassy of Tunisia in Washington D.C. has partnered with Shakshuka.org to offer a screening of award-winning film Where the Wind Comes From, directed by Amel Guellaty. The film premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, and features rising stars Eya Bellagha and Slim Baccar.

SYNOPSIS: The film follows rebellious 19-year-old Alyssa and shy 23-year-old Mehdi, who dream of escaping their reality. When they discover a contest offering the chance to flee, they embark on a road trip to southern Tunisia, confronting obstacles that challenge and transform them.

The film is in its original language, with English subtitles.
