Women of Cornwall - Create a Portrait Workshop at Hypatia Trust PZ

This relaxed 2-hour creative workshop for adults will use photographs, collage, drawing and written word to make a cameo portrait of an important woman in your life. No previous skills in art or portraiture required!

This workshop is one in a series taking place at a number of venues throughout Cornwall in 2024. The workshops are part of the Women of Cornwall project by Art Centre Penryn and ceramic artist Katie Bunnell, working in partnership with Kresen Kernow and Hypatia Trust. The project is gathering stories of women who have contributed in some way to Cornish culture and will culminate in the creation of an exciting new public collection of 50 plates featuring women of Cornwall.

The first stage of the project invites people to join in with creative workshops exploring women who are important to them and to nominate a woman to feature on a plate.

The workshops are facilitated by Katie Bunnell and Sarah Tridgell, Project Assistant at Art Centre Penryn.

In preparation for the workshop, we would like you to email us, if at all possible, a photograph of the woman you would like to focus on, we also ask that you bring it and any other relevant objects or images to the workshop on the day. All the work produced will feature in an exhibition at Art Centre Penryn as a culmination of this stage of the project. Once you have made a booking we will send you more details.
