Willow Basketry Workshop

Join us for the Willow Basketry Workshop with Folk Artist Sylvia Friday!

Location: Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts and Agriculture

We are excited to welcome back past PMRCAA Resident Artist and Weaver Sylvia Friday for this two-day willow basket weaving workshop. After much enthusiasm and interest in her first class this past fall, Sylvia is returning to PMRCAA for more willow basket making.

Workshop Highlights:

-Design and Customization: Sylvia will guide participants in the stake and strand weaving process, giving guidance on wicker patterns and techniques that participants can use to explore their own personal style and creativity!

-Participants will walk away from this workshop with a round wicker basket woven by their own hands.

What to Bring:

• Garden Pruners
• Small, sharp knife
• Pillow

All Other Materials will be Supplied

About the Instructor:

Sylvia Friday is a traditional basket maker, folk artist and storyteller. The spirit of her work is woven from her relationship with plants and animals and the lands and waterways where these beings live.

Cancellation Policy

- $20 cancellation fee

- 0% refund for cancellations less than 1 week before the workshop

- 50% refund for cancellations 7-14 days prior

- Full refunds will be provided if PMRCAA cancels the event due to inclement weather or if an instructor is unavailable.
