About this Event
Please join us for the botanical painting with egg tempera workshop with 2025 PMRCAA Resident Krista Schoening!
Date: May 31st
Time: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Location: Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts & Agriculture
We are excited to host Artist Krista Schoening for this egg tempera paint mixing and botanical painting workshop. Drawing inspiration from the locally grown flora found on Pine Meadow Ranch, participants will spend the lay learning different techniques from mixing their own paint to capturing the likes of organic forms.
Workshop Highlights:
Mechanics of Egg Tempera Paint: Participants will be guided through the process of creating their own egg tempera paints using eggs from Pine Meadow Ranch! Krista will walk participants through ground preparation, tempering of paint and layering techniques.
Botanical Painting Techniques: Participants will be given an introduction to observational painting and capturing the visual charactaristics of plants. This will be achieved by learning to capture the organic form, exploring the way light acts on flowers, and other observational techniques.
This workshop brings together the meditative qualities of observational painting, the methodical processes of egg tempera, and an appreciation for locally-grown garden plants.
All materials will be supplied! No previos experience or skills necessary!
