Weekend (1967) | 2nd Annual Garden Goes Global Film Festival

The Garden is going global! Join us for the second edition of this annual weekend-long film festival which will feature some of the best classic films from around the world. Running Friday, Oct. 9th-Sunday, Oct. 11th, we will be featuring works from nine different countries. Including beloved foreign classics like Godard’s WEEKEND, Ozu’s GOOD MORNING, and Murnau’s FAUST, as well as rarely screened gems like the Finnish melodrama RESTLESS BLOOD or the Senegalese road movie TOUKI BOUKI. Saturday's events will continue with a screening of Jean-Luc Godard's WEEKEND! 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: A bourgeois couple’s weekend journey into the countryside devolves into a surreal, apocalyptic road trip through a collapsing consumer society. Often regarded as both Jean-Luc Godard’s greatest—and most divisive—film, WEEKEND features one of cinema’s most audacious tracking shots alongside radical political commentary and a fragmented narrative. Both abrasive and darkly comic, it stands as one of the defining works of the French New Wave. In French w/ subtitles.
