Ancient Egypt, and specifically mummies, have offered highly creative inspiration for feature films. This presentation will provide a film history background on the art, exploring characteristics of this sub-genre and attitudes towards “exotic” views of Ancient Egyptian culture. Excerpts from 1932’s The Mummy starring Boris Karloff will be shown with the lecture. You do not need a ticket to attend. Walk ins day of are more than welcome!
