About this Event

Color is one of the most expressive and powerful elements in watercolor painting. With a deeper understanding of how color works, you’ll be better able to create paintings that reflect your intentions and capture the mood, atmosphere, and beauty you envision. We’ll begin with the fundamentals of color mixing and gradually explore more complex color relationships. Topics will include value, saturation, temperature, color harmony, complements, triads, and the use of color wheels as tools for making informed artistic choices. Please bring photo references for inspiration. These may include your own printed photographs as well as materials that contain colors you find compelling—fabric swatches, magazine clippings, postcards, packaging, natural objects, or other ephemera.
