About this Event

Join DC Department of Transportation’s Urban Forestry Division and Casey Trees for an immersive walking tour spotlighting the vital role trees play in Washington, DC’s urban environment.

On this two-hour walk, DC urban forester Alexander Grieve will highlight diverse tree species in the park — including oak, tulip, and elm — and their unique characteristics and vital contributions to our ecosystem. Along the way, you'll learn how DC selects and maintains the city's trees in parks and public spaces throughout the District.

We'll also discover how these living giants combat pollution, manage stormwater, cool the city, and improve air quality, all while uncovering how your actions can ensure the urban forest’s lasting survival.

Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can start the walk at 10 AM.
