About this Event
Bring your favorite analog hobby and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the Kogod Courtyard. Need inspiration? Think needlepoint, knitting, sketching, watercolor, junk journaling, mahjong, and more. Each Analog Night will feature a spotlight activity inspired by the Portrait Gallery’s collection. Come solo or with friends! For ages 18+.
Spotlight Activities
June 16: Get Ready for the Summer Solstice with Artist Mar Figueroa
Make a celestial clay amulet inspired by , on view in The Outwin 2025: American Portraiture Today.* Featuring art-making and a gallery talk with artist Mar Figueroa. Enjoy a beverage from the Courtyard Café, open late until 6:30 pm.

July 14: Pack Your Summer Picnic
Get inspired by Lee Simonson's self-portrait, on view in American Winners: Athletes and Entertainers Who Shaped the Nation. Arrange a summer picnic scene and draw a still life using oil pastels.
Note: Visitors are not allowed to bring scissors, knives, and other sharp tools into the museum. NPG staff will provide scissors upon request.
