Black Birders Week - Live Raptor Presentation with Rodney Stotts

Join DC Bird Alliance for a joyful close to Black Birders Week with a live raptor presentation on the Great Lawn featuring renowned African American falconer Rodney Stotts and his birds of prey.

This free, family-friendly event celebrates birds, conservation, culture, and community. Rodney’s presentation highlights the power of nature connection and the importance of protecting birds and their habitats.

Bring your lawn chair or a blanket and settle in for an inspiring afternoon outdoors.

Before and after the presentation, enjoy “Birding From the Bench” - a relaxed way to watch birds from the lawn. Bring binoculars if you have them, or simply enjoy observing from your seat.

All experience levels are welcome.

Kick off the morning at Birds & Brunch: A Black Birders Week Closing Celebration at Juneberry Garage before heading to the lawn.

Brunch includes:
