About this Event
What is a folk tale but a tangled woodland of words, where anything could happen?
Join Lisa Schneidau to discover some of the special trees in Central Park in and near the Family Tree Field. Lisa will share legends, folktales and folklore from her forthcoming book Tree Folk - you’ll never look at a sycamore the same way again!
Lisa Schneidau is a professional storyteller, author and environmentalist based on Dartmoor. She is the author of four books, including Woodland Folk Tales of Britain and Ireland. Her fifth book, Tree Folk, will be published in November 2026. www.lisaschneidau.co.uk
Meet us outside the Meadow Cafe and arrive no later than 3:50 pm. From there, we will do a short awareness walk down to the Family Tree Field, where the storywalk will start.
The walk will be no longer than a quarter of a mile in total and will leave the paved paths, but it is relatively flat.
Register your place with a free ticket or, if you can afford to, a recommended donation to local charity Plymouth Tree People, who planted and maintain all the trees in the Family Tree Field.
Please inform us if you have purchased a ticket and no longer intend to attend, so somebody else can come.
This event is not suitable for children under 12. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
