About this Event
Step back in time and join Mary Anning, the legendary 19th-century fossil collector and paleontology pioneer, in this engaging and educational workshop led by a Mary Anning impersonator.
Participants will hear Mary recount her remarkable life growing up on the cliffs of Lyme Regis—from discovering her first “curiosities” as a child to unearthing some of the most extraordinary fossils ever found. Through lively storytelling and character-led interpretation, Mary brings to life her adventures, challenges, and groundbreaking scientific contributions.
Perfect for anyone curious about natural history, this workshop offers an inspiring blend of history, science, and storytelling. Come discover the world of fossils through the eyes of the woman who changed paleontology forever.
This workshop has been developed for children aged 7-11 years old, but we leave it up to parents/guardians to decide if this is likely to be suitable for their child and attendance is open for all ages. Parents have fed back that they have found these sessions enjoyable and would recommend them for children of all ages.
Price £8.50 per person (An adult ticket must be purchased alongside child tickets at time of booking)
