Loyal SFPV member Sina’s master’s thesis defense is happening, and you are invited! Sina’s research in International Community Health examines how Norwegian health professionals work with ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), a new treatment that combines medication and psychotherapy for people with depression that has not improved with standard treatments🪄Through interviews with doctors and psychologists, the study explores the ethical questions that emerge when using ketamine in mental healthcare: who gets access, how informed consent functions during altered states of consciousness, and how therapy and medication can best be integrated🌿
The defense will also discuss the recent national decision to reimburse generic ketamine in Norway’s public health system, making this research especially timely.
The event is open to anyone interested in psychedelic therapy, mental health innovation, or the future of ethical psychiatric care✨
Tuesday, October 22, from 10:00 to 12:00, in Room 271, Frederik Holsts Hus, University of Oslo.
