SWIM WITH GAZA Hampstead Heath Mixed Bathing Pond supporting free swimming lessons for bereaved children in Gaza.
About this Event

This swim is part of our ongoing Swim with Gaza campaign.

Depending on tides, and weather conditions in Gaza, children who have already had free swimming lessons, will demonstrate their freedom in the sea with a swimming gala in the last week of August.

SHOW OUR SOLIDARITY

To show our solidarity with these children, most of whom are bereaved and living in tents, without schools, do join us on Saturday 29th August at the Mixed Bathing Pond on Hampstead Heath. Video and pics will be online for all in Gaza to know that people around the world care about them.

We plan to support 1,900 more children over the coming months with free swimming lessons, via our fundraising campaign. Thanks to the inspirational coaching from the Tantesh Swimming Academy in Gaza.

Swimming at the Mixed Pond is free for the over 60s before 9.30am. Otherwise charges apply. After the swim, we intend to meet ouside the pond for a brunch picnic on the `Heath, with food that you bring to share.

WANT TO ORGANISE A SWIM WITH GAZA NEAR YOU?

We are looking for organisers of more swims in other parts of London or the UK, so reach out to us if you would like to duplicate this! Open Swim with Gaza events in seas or rivers are free of course, with dontations on the day if participants would like to contibute.

THE JOY OF SWIMMING FOR ALL

All children deserve the chance to learn to swim. Swimming is a skill for life that can be enjoyed for years to come. It brings freedom and moments of happiness in the chaos and heartache that children in Gaza endure. Lets show them that we care, even if those trapped in Gaza feel that the world has turned a blind eye.

The Hampstead Mixed Pond is located near East Heath Road on Hampstead Heath.

Public transport
The nearest stations to the Mixed Pond are:

• Hampstead Heath on the Overground Line (10 minute walk)
• Hampstead on the Northern Line (17 minute walk)
