Summer Art Camp: Paint like the G.O.A.T Artists

Summer Art Camps at Moss Creek in New Cumberland…

Each day will be a different camp, focusing on a specific theme. Classes are taught by Tanya Haller, an art teacher with 27 years experience teaching kids from K-12. Sign up for just 1, or more (please see our classes schedule on our main EventBrite page). One snack and drink will be provided each day. Make sure to wear old clothes… we WILL get messy.

Summer Art Camp: Paint like the G.O.A.T Artists

Children ages 8-18 only.

Class Overview:

Learn about 4 famous artists and their painting style. Create 1 project for each artist style .

-Seurat: Learn about the science behind the pointillism painting concept and create your own pointillism style painting.

-Matisse: learn about how a debilitating illness led to an artist being bedridden and still wanting to create art. Create a paper collage art project.

-Learn about Van Gogh and his signature style. Paint flowers in this style on a canvas.

-Warhol: learn about Pop Art and how Andy Warhol created art in this style. Draw your favorite candy, and paint it, in the Warhol style.

Tanya Haller Artist Bio:

I have taught all levels of art for 25 years, in a variety of school settings. I have taught Native American children in South Dakota, public and private school children in grades K-12, and children at the IU. I have my Masters in Art Ed and have experience teaching both children and adults with special needs. I also have experience with teaching “Paint nights”, private art instruction, and kids Christmas and summer art camps. I love creating things and thinking “outside the box”. When I teach a class, whether it be in the standard classroom, a paint night, or a child’s birthday party, I have the same approach…. Teach how to do the technique and then let the students/participants use the technique to create their own unique project.
