Summer Art Camp: How Did They Do That??? Explore Famous Artist Painting Styles:
Children ages 8-18 only.
Class Overview:
What is an artist’s painting style? Learn about the various painting styles used through history, including Realism, Abstraction, Pointalism, Fauvism, and Action Art.
Students will paint a realistic landscape, abstract a “ normal” drawing into an abstraction, paint with pointillism, paint like an “ angry beast” for fauvism, and use a drip bucket to create a pendulum painting.
Tanya Haller Artist Bio:
I have taught all levels of art for 25 years, in a variety of school settings. I have taught Native American children in South Dakota, public and private school children in grades K-12, and children at the IU. I have my Masters in Art Ed and have experience teaching both children and adults with special needs. I also have experience with teaching “Paint nights”, private art instruction, and kids Christmas and summer art camps. I love creating things and thinking “outside the box”. When I teach a class, whether it be in the standard classroom, a paint night, or a child’s birthday party, I have the same approach…. Teach how to do the technique and then let the students/participants use the technique to create their own unique project.
