Join us for a special story time with Marcia Eiynck & Judas Bardon! Marcia & Judas will be bringing some of their sled dogs and gear for children to explore and learn about the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon!Marcia is a Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa descendant. John Beargrease was her great-great grandpa and he was a Grand Portage Band member who lived in Beaver Bay. She currently lives in Sturgeon Lake, MN with her husband, 4 sled dogs, and a cat. She has 5 children who all live in Minnesota or Wisconsin. Marcia is on the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon Board of Directors, works for the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa as the Agricultural Division Director, and is the owner of Beargrease Botanicals.
Judas is a homesteader and musher in Northern Minnesota, they volunteer extensively in the community and are working to make dog sledding accessible to marginalized groups with the Dogs Love Everyone social initiative. They are an outdoor educator, farmer, artist, and parent.
