Takkronor (Ceiling Crowns), were originally created as festive mobiles made of rye straw and other natural materials and hung in homes for good luck and successful crops. About your instructor:
Alison Aune received a B.F.A. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1981and spent her junior year at Östa Grevie Folkhögskola in Sweden. She received her M.A. from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1987, and a Ph.D. from Ohio University Athens in 2000 with one year as an exchange student at the University of Trondheim Norway. She served as education coordinator at the Tweed Museum of Art from 1991 to 1999 before joining the UMD Department of Art and Design as a professor of art education.
