About this Event

Secret Agent Society is an engaging, evidence-based program for children ages 8–12 who would benefit from developing stronger social and emotional skills. Through games, activities, group practice, and secret-agent missions, children learn practical strategies they can use at home, at school, and in the community.

Secret Agents Will Learn To:
  • Recognize emotions in themselves and others
  • Manage feelings such as anxiety and anger
  • Start, maintain, and navigate conversations
  • Cooperate, play, and work with others
  • Handle mistakes, losing, teasing, and bullying
  • Solve social problems and make thoughtful choices
  • Build and maintain positive friendships

Program Format
  • Initial family session: Parent orientation and an opportunity for children to meet the facilitators, explore the setting, and begin building comfort
  • Nine weekly sessions: 90-minute, child-focused small-group sessions
  • Parent involvement: A brief caregiver component at the beginning of each weekly session
  • Two follow-up sessions: Offered after the core program to review progress, practise skills, and support continued success
  • At-home missions to help children apply their new skills in everyday situations

Who Is This Program For?

Children ages 8–12 who have identified social or emotional learning goals. Children do not require a specific diagnosis to participate.

Participants should be able to:

  • Participate safely in a small-group environment
  • Communicate their basic needs to an adult
  • Engage in group activities with appropriate support
  • Benefit from structured social-skills instruction and practice

A brief intake and screening process will be completed to determine whether the program is an appropriate fit for each child.
