About this Event
This workshop explores the freedom and energy of palette knife painting through bold colour, layered surfaces and intuitive mark making.
Working from curated floral references, you will create your own expressive floral painting while learning how to apply acrylic paint with palette knives to achieve depth, movement and rich painterly texture.
A special focus of the session will be colour mixing. There will be no ready-made lilac or violet paint used in this workshop. Instead, you will learn how to mix these tones yourself using layered colour combinations and a limited palette approach.
Designed to be relaxed and accessible, this workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as anyone wanting to experiment with a more expressive approach to painting. You will receive guidance throughout the session while still having the freedom to explore your own interpretation and colour palette.
During the workshop you will:
• Learn how to use palette knives to create texture and movement
• Explore colour mixing techniques using a limited palette
• Learn how to mix lilac and violet tones from primary colours
• Develop confidence with expressive mark making and layered paint application
• Create your own finished floral artwork to take home
