We're bringing you ✧ tasty ✧ Magandjin summer drawing sessions at the iconic venue Flying Colours throughout the summer season for your festive szn pleasure ⚠︎

➛ Classic studio mav life drawing sessions but with an extra social//festive vibe ~ the bar downstairs is open for your enjoyment throughout the session + afterwards to stick around and hang out with new friends :-)

➛ Dishing up wine, pizza & snacks downstairs: pair your mav evening with snacks and sips to delight 𐃯

➛ Break in the middle to grab a bev, chat with the lovely people around you, or continue working on your drawings

➛ Held in the gorgeous upstairs studio space of Flying Colours > walk towards the back of the venue, up the stairs on the left (just ask one of the friendly staff members for direction if need) xo

ABOUT OUR LIFE DRAWING SESSIONS

Our sessions involve a professional nude life model to draw inspiration from throughout the evening. At Studio Maverik, we take the tradition of life drawing and facilitate a contemporary space for all people to enjoy no-pressure creating and socialising. We work to foster a safe environment where both beginners and experienced artists alike can enjoy a drawing session. Sessions are self-guided and facilitated by two local artists, Frances & Rhianna. All experience levels are warmly welcomed and encouraged!

• Please arrive 15 minutes early to set up & grab a drink, we will be starting at 6:30pm
• Held in the upstairs studio space at Flying Colours, bar and kitchen open downstairs to purchase treats throughout the evening
• All basic drawing materials provided such as pencils, markers, erasers, sharpeners, paper, drawing boards etc and you can BYO additional materials
• Poses range from 1-minute warm-ups to 15-minute studies
• Seated & floor seating available
• Student ID/Concession card required when purchasing a student/concession ticket

ABOUT THE VENUE

Welcome to Flying Colours — your West End local. We live at 63 Vulture Street and we’re proud to be a part of this treasured neighbourhood pocket with the best neighbours going around. At our place, we're all about simple pleasures and good times. Drop in for tasty beers, natural-leaning wines and seasonal cocktails in our leafy courtyard, cosy warehouse dining room, and side bar where Brisbane's best DJs will set the tone.

Flying Colours generously supports the local creative industry ~ be sure to give them the love they deserve and purchase their delicious sips & definitely try their pizza (it's our favourite in town).

PARKING & TRANSPORT

Plenty of street parking available surrounding Flying Colours. We are also accessible by bus or a 15 minute walk from South Bank train station.

ACCESSIBILITY

Unfortunately, the studio level of the venue is not wheelchair accessible. We are deeply sorry if this impacts your ability to join us however we are working hard on finding an additional venue with an accessible offering, so please keep an eye out for future events or contact us for more information at [email protected] - we do apologise.

Cancellation policy & refunds

We have a strict cancellation policy that requires you to request a refund more than 48 hours before an event. You can request a refund via your eventbrite appointment email (manage order > request refund) to open up the spot for another drawer. We cannot swap your ticket for another date. We will not respond to DMs or emails requesting a refund, you must go through the eventbrite process, thank you.

Further class details

Please keep your phone away while the model is posing, but you're welcome to use it during the break.

If you choose to work with wet mediums such as ink or paint we require you to come prepared with a floor cover, cleaning materials (such as a rag) and to take responsibility to prevent spillage/clean up any mess. Thank you for your understanding.
