Restless Blood(1946) |2nd Annual Garden Goes Global Film Fest

The Garden is going global! Join us for the second edition of this annual weekend-long film festival which will feature some of the best classic films from around the world. Running Friday, Oct. 9th-Sunday, Oct. 11th, we will be featuring works from nine different countries. Including beloved foreign classics like Godard’s WEEKEND, Ozu’s GOOD MORNING, and Murnau’s FAUST, as well as rarely screened gems like the Finnish melodrama RESTLESS BLOOD or the Senegalese road movie TOUKI BOUKI. The final day of our weekend long film festival continues with a rarely screend film from Teuvo Tulio-RESTLESS BLOOD!
𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: Often compared to Douglas Sirk, Finnish director Teuvo Tulio is known for his unrestrained melodramas that showcase powerful, borderline-camp performances from its female leads, and RESTLESS BLOOD is no exception. Tulio’s muse, Regina Linnanheimo, stars as Sylivi, a woman whose marriage is on the rocks after she loses her sight. Her younger sister has ulterior motives when she moves into the family home and moves in on her sister’s husband, pursuing the affair right under Sylivi’s nose. You won’t be able to take your eyes off of this captivating tale featuring bold German Expressionist-inspired shots, stunning ‘40s era fashion and drop-dead-gorgeous black-and-white cinematography.
