Responsible Mosquito Control Workshop
About this Event
Did you know that many common mosquito control methods can unintentionally harm pollinators, beneficial insects, birds, and other wildlife?
Join the newly formed Northern Virginia Wildlife Coexistence Coalition for an engaging and informative workshop exploring safer, more effective alternatives to traditional mosquito fogging and spraying.
During this event, you'll learn:
- How mosquito buckets target mosquito larvae before they become biting adults
- Why broad-spectrum mosquito spraying can impact pollinators and other beneficial insects
- Practical, wildlife-friendly mosquito control strategies you can use at home
- How integrated pest management approaches can reduce mosquitoes while protecting biodiversity
The workshop will feature a guest speaker discussing mosquito control, environmental impacts, and science-based alternatives to spraying.
Participants will also receive their own mosquito bucket (included with registration) and learn how to properly use and maintain it for maximum effectiveness.
Special Guest Vendor
Jill Spohn will be on-site with additional mosquito bucket supplies and resources, available to answer questions and demonstrate how the system works.
Whether you're a homeowner, gardener, wildlife enthusiast, HOA board member, or simply looking for a better way to manage mosquitoes, this workshop will provide practical solutions you can implement immediately.
Together, we can reduce mosquitoes while protecting pollinators, songbirds, fireflies, amphibians, and the countless other species that share our communities.
Space is limited. Registration is required.
