Redemption of Herakles - Lecture & Symposium on Mythopoetics & Mens' Mental Health
In advance of Ryan Levis' conference presentation with the Cascadia Mens Conference, he will be giving a local lecture on the Redemption of Herakles. The lecture will include a narrative exploration of Herakles' twelve labours, locating Hera Queen of the Gods as justice-bringer in the wake of Megara's murder.
This presentation will knit together allegorical themes in contemporary masculinities as it encounters womens' self actualization.
After the presentation, Ryan will host a symposium discussion on myth, men, collective wellbeing, and the elimination of gender based violence.
Seats are limited (~15), and by reservation only. This is a free event.
Please call the Nanaimo Mens' Resource Centre at 250 716 1551, or email [email protected] to reserve your seat.
This lecture is open to the public.
