Wina Wellness - Pow Wow Dance Program

Welcome to Wina Wellness, a 6-week pow wow dance program created for Indigenous women and girls and led by Indigenous women.

Schedule: Sundays, April 26 – May 31
Time: 3:00–4:30 PM
Location: Nanaimo Boxing Club

With a capacity of 20 participants, this is a closed program (not drop-in). Commitment to all six sessions is required, as the program is progressive and each week builds on the last.

Rooted in the belief that movement is medicine, Wina Wellness offers a holistic approach to wellbeing. Supporting physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health through movement, culture, and community connection.

This program is exclusively for Indigenous women and girls and is offered at no cost, generously funded by Sport Canada.

To support commitment and reduce no-shows, a $50 refundable deposit is required to secure your spot. This will be returned upon completion of the program. Participants will also be invited to a private lululemon shopping experience, where they will receive a gift package to support their journey.

Program Commitment

Wina Wellness is a 6-week program, and participation in all sessions is expected. By registering, you are committing to show up for yourself and for the group each week.

If you are unable to attend a session, we ask that you communicate with us as early as possible before the session begins.

Your $50 deposit and lululemon shopping experience are connected to attendance:

• A $10 deduction will be applied to your deposit for any no-show (missing a session without prior communication)
• Participants will receive $30 per session attended toward their lululemon gift card
• No-shows will not receive the $30 for that session

Community requires commitment. It asks for reciprocity, respect, and accountability. Showing up for this space is part of how we build it together.
