Omakase ("I'll Leave it Up to You")
About this Event
Omakase ("I'll leave it Up to You")
Guided Group Hypnosis in Downtown Toronto (to join virtually, please refer to the FAQ)
An open-format group hypnosis session in which the hypnotist selects the evening’s themes and suggestions according to the needs, requests, and shared patterns present in the room.
In Japanese dining, omakase means placing your trust in the chef to choose what will be served.
This session applies the same principle to hypnosis.
Rather than beginning with one predetermined topic, the hypnotist listens to the group, considers the requests made at the beginning of the session, and creates a coherent hypnosis experience around the themes that appear most relevant.
One evening may centre on confidence and self-trust. Another may focus on stress, motivation, boundaries, uncertainty, perfectionism, or letting go of something that has occupied too much mental space.
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to work on. You may bring a particular concern, make a general request, or simply leave the direction of the session to the hypnotist.
This session may be especially helpful if you:
- Are interested in hypnosis but are not sure which themed session to choose
- Have several concerns that seem connected
- Want an experience shaped by the people who are actually present
- Enjoy thoughtful, responsive, and unscripted group experiences
- Are open to encountering an idea you might not have selected for yourself
- Have attended other Morpheus groups and want something less predictable
- Prefer to trust the facilitator rather than define the session in advance
- Want an opportunity to pause and consider what would be most useful right now
What to Expect
The session begins with a brief conversation about what participants would find useful that evening.
You may request help with a specific issue, name a broader theme, or remain silent. No one is required to disclose personal information.
The hypnotist will then identify one or more shared themes and guide the group through a hypnosis session designed specifically for th
Possible areas of focus may include:
- Confidence and self-respect
- Stress and mental overactivity
- Motivation and follow-through
- Perfectionism and fear of mistakes
- Boundaries and assertiveness
- Letting go of criticism, regret, or resentment
- Clarity during periods of uncertainty
- Becoming less influenced by other people’s opinions
- Rest, recovery, and permission to slow down
- Changing unwanted habits or automatic patterns
- Developing a more constructive relationship with yourself
The session is not simply a collection of unrelated requests. The hypnotist looks for the underlying ideas that connect them and builds the experience around a clear, unified direction.
For example, requests involving procrastination, public speaking, and career uncertainty may all involve the ability to act before feeling completely confident. Requests involving stress, people-pleasing, and resentment may point toward boundaries and emotional responsibility.
The exact content cannot be announced in advance because it is created in response to the group.
That uncertainty is the point.
Why Choose an Open-Format Session?
People do not always experience their concerns in neat categories.
A person may describe low motivation when the deeper pattern is perfectionism. Someone may request confidence when what they need is permission to tolerate disapproval. Another person may arrive wanting relaxation and discover that their stress is connected to an unresolved decision.
A predetermined topic can be useful. An open-format session creates room for a different kind of usefulness: responding to what is present rather than forcing the experience into a category chosen beforehand.
You may hear suggestions directed toward another participant and realize that they apply equally well to you. The value of the group is often found in these unexpected connections.
Who Can Attend?
No previous experience with hypnosis is required.
You may participate quietly, and you will not be required to make a request or explain why you are attending. You are welcome to bring a specific intention, but you may also arrive without one and allow the session to unfold.
Each Omakase session stands on its own and will be different from the sessions that came before it.
This is an educational and experiential group hypnosis session. Because the content is shared and created for the group as a whole, it is not a substitute for individualized medical, psychological, or therapeutic care.
