Learn the art of mosaic design and practice the skills needed to make a mosaic mirror, In this class we will explore the various stages of making mosaics for indoor display using the direct technique.
We will be focussing on how mosaics ‘work’, the placement and flow, or ‘andamento’, of the pieces, how important the pieces are but also how important the gaps are too! There will be a choice of mirror projects, shapes and sizes. We will be working on a design on a flat board.
Everything is provided, please wear closed shoes as sandals are not great for a mosaic workshop. We will be mainly using hand cutting techniques and so hand and wrist strength are important, if you think you might struggle please let me know as there are other ways we can work.
Please note there is a £30 material cost payable to the tutor on the day.
Included in the cost of your workshop is lunch, tea and coffee for the duration and afternoon cake.
