Pope takes the stage for a pre-Mardi Gras season throwdown. We're celebrating 20 years this year and want you all to be in on the fun! Tunes by The Meters, Professor Longhair, Dr. John, Parliament Funkadelic, and so much more.

Formed in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Pope of Dope has been delivering a message of peace, love, and "gettin' down on the dance floor" for over 20 years. Pope has been leading Kansas City audiences on a journey from Uptown New Orleans through the heart of the "Crescent City."

Jazz Thursday shows at The Ship are a good way to discover emerging local musical talent in a cozy, intimate setting. The shows are free to attend, but your donations are appreciated to help us offset costs and pay the performers. All seating is first come, first served, so please arrive early to get the best choice. The Ship is open all day and serves some of the finest food and beverages in the area.
