About this Event

Alan Voss builds music around the possibilities of the guitar: melody, texture, and room for a conversation. The Kansas City guitarist, composer, and teacher leads the Alan Voss Quartet at the Blue Room on September 26.

His debut album, Baobab, introduces his writing in a quartet setting. Alongside his own projects, Voss works across Kansas City’s jazz, blues, and R&B scenes, bringing the ears of both a bandleader and a collaborator to the stage. Saturday is a chance to hear his quartet up close, with two sets to choose from.
