Indigo Hour
About this Event
Indigo Hour
As the day softens into evening, join us beneath the trees for Indigo Hour—an outdoor gathering centered around rest, reflection, and community.
We'll gather in the late afternoon at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens for a bring-your-own-book reading experience surrounded by nature. There is no agenda to rush through and nothing to perform. Simply come as you are and allow yourself to settle into the rhythm of the evening.
Throughout our time together, we'll pause for gentle somatic moments through breathwork, meditation, and quiet reflection, creating space to slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and enjoy meaningful connection with others. Lavender-infused tea and sangria will be available as we relax into the warmth of a summer evening.
As daylight begins to fade, those who wish are invited to participate in an optional indigo finger-staining experience. Offered as a closed cultural practice, this quiet ritual honors a shared history and the hands of those who came before us, inviting us to end the evening with intention, remembrance, and connection.
Indigo Hour welcomes adults of all genders who are seeking a slower pace, thoughtful conversation, and the simple joy of reading together outdoors.
The exact meeting location within Roy Wilkins Park will be shared with registered attendees before the event.
Come read, rest, breathe, and as summer settles into evening, we'll turn the hour indigo.
